Section Head of TSG Backoffice Operations Support Systems or BOSS from January 2011 to July 2015 (absorbed as Regular)
- Lead a newly formed Backoffice Support Systems (BOSS) team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Developers. Maintained backlogs and agile-delivered automation requirements of GCash support groups.
- Facilitated and trained new partners (ie. billers, merchants) to integrate into GCash SOAP API (Utiba, Umarket)
- Product management of GCash Portal Strategy (GCash Online for subscribers, Project Octopus for GCash partners, and GCash Backoffice for employees)
- Datacenter Infrastructure management of GCash ATM rack servers, switches, HSM, and gateways to American Express, Megalink, Mastercard, Visa.
- Data Extract Transform Load (ETL). Automated data ingestion and processing from GCash, SAP, Peoplesoft, Salesforce, GCash Remit, GCash iCard, GCash iSwitch, GCash Amex, GCash NFC, BPI Globe BanKo, Globe Big Data Teradata, Project Optimus, and billing and merchant partner systems
- Sent out daily reports to GCash partners, and nightly revenue reporting and sweeping into SAP ERP
- Access management to GCash transaction logs in compliance to Republic Act 1405: Bank Secrecy Law
- GCash Portal Strategy: GCashOnline (for subscribers), GCash Octopus (for partners), GCash Backoffice (for employees)
- Project Octopus. Process automation for Support Groups: Treasury, Finance, Compliance, Customer Service, Sales. Integrated partner prefunding via BPI and BDO. Daily bank settlements to partner billers. Dormancy adjustments.
- The Globe Tower, 2013: Cashless Building (GCash-only), closed loop dining payment ecosystem for 8/F Taste. Network and systems architecture of closed loop payment ecosystem.
- Republic Act 10173: Data Privacy Act of 2012. End-to-end coordination with Data Governance to comply with the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines. Organized Globe’s first Data Privacy Expo in 2016.
- Republic Act 9160: Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001. AMLA case management for BanKO
- Emergency Response Team or ERT. Developed SMS-based notifications for ERT members. It was used during fire and earthquake drills which helped the ERT members synchronize the timing for evacuating the Globe Tower.
- Daily Data ETL (extract-transform-load) from GCash to SAP, Peoplesoft, GCash API systems, and vice versa
- Daily Data Upload of GCash Transaction Reports to partner SFTP repositories (Bills Payments)

GCash Data Warehouse: Governance, Lineage, Catalog
Back in 2010, it literally took 3 months to serve a GCash Partner’s request for a GCash transaction report. I built the GCash data warehouse from ground up where GCash employees can easily and securely send the reports for any GCash subscriber request. I was absorbed in 2011 by GCash as Section Head for a new team called Backoffice Support Systems (BOSS).
GCash Portal Strategy
I lead the product management strategies of 3 web portals: (1) Employee backoffice applications, (2) Partner extranet portals (transaction reports, BDO and BPI prefunding), and (3) Subscriber portals (GCash Online, GCash Click, GCash ATM Application Forms).
Project OCTOPUS! GCash Process Automations
Coined as Project OCTOPUS, one GCash BOSS Portal platform to serve all cross-functional Support Group departments.
We achieved agile rapid development and delivery to support GCash business operations.

Compliance to Memorandum of Agreement (MoA)
We maintained a portfolio of process automations serving GCash cross-functional support groups.
These included automated statement of accounts, sweeping and adjustments for GCash partners in compliance to the signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
GCash ATM Switch Infrastructure Management
We documented GCash transaction architectures and used these to trace latency bottlenecks. We did daily backups, monitoring, and business continuity simulations.

Before being absorb as a Regular employee to lead the BOSS team, I was contracted thru Ayala Systems as a Technical Project Manager and managed delivery of customer-facing microsites. Eventually learning the GCash API, I developed GCash Online Phase 2 and GCash Card Application Form V3 myself.
- Managed projects related to web presence of its core product “GCASH” and integration of partner sites to transact with GCASH subscribers online.
- Delivered GCASH CLICK - first in the Philippines, GCASH CLICK made online shopping safe, affordable and hassle-free! GCASH CLICK picked up and delivered purchased items through the partner courier, Delbros, while funds were escrowed and released to the seller when delivered
- Oversaw strategies and directions on implementing workflow applications
- Delivered GCASH ONLINE, Phase 2: PayPal to GCash. GCASH Online empowers GCASH subscribers to send money to other GCASH subscribers and check their balances right from their PCs! The PayPal platform enables its US-based account holders to fund GCASH registered Globe or TM mobile phones in the Philippines.
- Integrated PayMo (Boku) payment. Buy Facebook coins for games like Zynga Poker, Mafia Wars, Farmville, Pet Society.
- Delivered GCASH Card Application Forms. GCASH Card enables subscribers withdraw their funds anytime through any BancNet and MegaLink ATMs. The application forms are web applications with online payment and door-to-door delivery. 3 application forms: (1) for subscribers, (2) for Globe employees, and (3) for Rural Banks account holders.
